World Population Report 2014: UN

*Population : 7.2 billion in 2014

-Expected to increase more than 2 billion by 2050

-World population reach at 7billion in 2011

-Between 2010-14 population grew at a rate of 1.2% per annum

-Expectation : 8.1 billion in 2025
                         9.6 billion in 2050

-Now, 54% added population from Asia and 33% added population fro Africa

-By 2050, 80% will be from Africa and 12% from Asia

-Europe will experience negative growth in 2020

-India is projected to overtake china and become World's most populous country by 2028

-Becline are expected from: China, Japan, Germany, Romania, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Thailan, and Ukraine

*TFR (World): 2.5

*Life Expectancy : 70.0 in 2010-2014
                                  64.8 in 1990-1994

*Under 5 mortality: 52 in 2014
                                   86 in 1994

*Share of neonatal deaths in child mortality is increased.
-Causes: 1. Preterm birth 2. intropartum complications 3. neonatal infections

*Decrease in infections and mortality due to AIDS

*International Immigrates : 154 m in 1990s
                                                232 m in 2013

*No. of adolscent: 1.2 billion (1/6th of total population)

*Share of older people (60 years and more)
1994: 9%
2014:12%
2050:21%

*Urban Population: 
1994:2.3 billion
2014:3.9 billion
2050: 6.3 billion

*Most Populous: 1. Tokyo 2. Delhi 3. Mexico 4. NYC 5. Shanghai 6. Sao Paulo

-Expected in 2025: 1. Tokyo 2. Delhi 3. Shanghai 4. Mumabi 5. Mexico 6. NYC 7. Sao Paulo 8.Dhaka 9. Beijing 10. Karachi
